Kali Pooja- Get Rid of Darkess in Life

Kal signifies Darkness; Kali vanishes that Darkness. She sweeps away the darkness from every human being who walks the path of excellence by performing the puja rituals. Just as all the colors of the spectrum blend into black, yet black stays unchanged, similarly, Goddess Kali, who is totally Dark, mysteriously, takes away all the darkness, yet remains unaffected. Kali Puja is performed on a new moon night. As Kali is associated with dark rites and devil worship, the rituals performed are withouth much pomp and gaiety and offered with great care. In the Hindu folklore, different representations of Goddess Kali are available viz. Siddha Kali, Bhadra Kali, Raksha Kali, Shwashan Kali and Maha Kali. The puja concludes with the offering of the arti, symbolic of consciousness and prasad, signifying unification of God with the worshippers.
